CHOCOLATE CHIPS DID ME IN🥵. I usually buy the dark semi sweet chocolate chips for protein muffins and decided to buy guittard milk choc extra large chips. Then thought might be a good idea to have 1/4 cup as a treat. Then another. Then another. Then half the bag. Clearly i have to continue on the no threatening foods in the house. Dark semi sweet not a threat. Yummy high quality milk chocolate big threat. Crap. When will i fully change?

Katsolo I believe we have shared the same experience tho for me it was due to eat in an entire pack of sugar free gum. I was miserable for over 24 hours. 💩 💩 unreal!

Slyone i cannot have sunflower seeds in the house either tho almonds are fine even skinny dipped peanut butter almonds are fine. Weird the way the brain works.

Chocolate is a problem if you let it be. I can't be bothered much, as it's a habit. I sometimes think it's better to give up certain foods completely.

Naomi if i lived by that i would never have white carbohydrates, chocolate, ice cream, cheese, sunflower seeds, chips or any treats of any kind including the little atkins treats i give myself. For the first 6 months of my journey i lived a very boring and tasteless existence and slowly added back tasty things. It’s more about triggers and easy access. I can always drive to the store and indulge but i dont. The milk choc chips was a one off. Thought i could have in house found out i cant. It’s all good. Lesson learned

After school Friday, I pigged out on blue hot Takis with my granddaughters!! Well, for me, 2 servings of them (300 calories) eaten with ONLY 24 Takis!! 😳 I don’t usually waste my calories on junk that won’t keep me full, BUT I FELT like I needed that Friday after school! Needless to say, I went over my goal calories for Friday!!
On occasion, if I don’t treat myself to a “cheat”, I don’t think I could sustain my normal healthy diet!! I need an occasional splurge!! BTW, my mouth and tongue turned bright blue 🔹and was on FIRE 🔥 😮💨 LOL 😂
But like you said, keeping temptations constantly just lying around at home is not a good plan when trying to stay on track.

That's just it - you don't know for sure until you try. It's super cool that we can use FS as a sort of confessional so we can move forward and binge no more (until the next time).

lol, i tried the Lily's chocolate chips a few weeks ago. 😅 i was fairly good with them but now they are gone. sadly. they won't be back for a while. dang i LOVE CHOCOLATE 🍫

Milk chocolate chips are too addictive for me. I can keep the semi-sweet chips in my pantry no problem. Those milk chocolates are mini Sees candy to me!

Have you tried Lily's chocolates? They are sweetened with stevia and have a variety of options for guilt free pleasure, as long as you don't mind paying a little more, but a little goes a long way. Because I find a square or 2 satisfies my chocolate cravings without the sugar crash and extra calories of eating a bar like Hershey's. Even Walmart carries it in the candy isle, Yokes in the health food aisle.

YOH, don't say never! There was a time I thought I could not control my addiction (or so, I thought) to chewy candies like gummies or jelly beans. If I had a bag, I'd nibble away at them til they were all gone. I was also one of those people that if I couldn't find suitable snacks, I'd eat whatever there was just to have a snack. Now, I never eat any snack without measuring it & putting it in a bowl. NO eating directly from the bag. (Exception....premeasured packets) I plan for my snacks every day & keep acceptable snacks on hand. Occasionally, I have a snack or dessert that is higher calorie than usual. No guilt! You may not be there yet, but it's possible you can get there. I think that because I "allow" myself splurges sometimes, I'm not tempted to overdo it every day. It's all in our heads.
