Omg I remember doing a project very similar to this in elementary school… for my project we had to include knights and other items that would be in the castle

It's a lovely castle! Very strong and well built as a castle should be. I am sad they did not see that. (Cool moat too!)

It looks like a well built, sturdy castle. I hate those type of projects because they are so subjective and most of fancy ones are made by parents anyway..

Can’t help but ask what was “wrong” with it? Did they hand out guidelines ahead of time?

Still waiting to see why the grade was so low. My daughter painted it and put the sand & rocks in and did labels. Clearly, she's not old enough for power tools.
I think the moat was the best part. I took a router to it, had her paint and add things, then I mixed epoxy and poured on top. The thicker part of the castle represents "The Keep". I did thicker wood since the Keep was 8ft concrete walls acting like a panic room.

Is that considered plagiarism over there? getting someone else to do your assignment? I am unsure on the rules. it looks like a B to me, I think 66% is something I would say was fair?

I wonder if they didnt like that you did a lot of work on it. I helped my daughter write computer program one time (ok, I did it all). Hers was the only program that worked! So the teacher said,"your mother did this, didnt she?"

actually upon reflection I think Daddy needs to step back. Sorry. Step the firetruck back. it's her assignment. Who knows how creative she could have been, but instead she was presented with this boxy depressing thing that dad made, that she had to bling up and couldn't because it was so... stolid. Step away from the kids' homework. Don't ask about their marks, it's not your marks, it's not your homework. LOL!!!

It’s hard to hear parents say f**k this school. That attitude is often conveyed to the kids, which makes teaching even more difficult. If parents have questions or concerns about grades, perhaps trying to have a conversation with the teacher would help. Even an email is appreciated really. Any communication from a parent can be welcome as a means of becoming a team to support their student. Teachers and schools aren’t the enemy 💙

Little Red Fox, that's why I had her paint it. And I didn't give it too much detail. I wanted it to look 4th grade level and not like I did the whole thing.
