I do an odd thing, and I wonder if others have insight into this. If I go over my allotment of calories, I just abandon ship, double down on the behavior, and eat something else. Last night I was doing well, went over calories, and then ate a bunch of cookies because "what the hell I already went over anyway". This clearly isn't helpful.

I’m doing the same thing today! I’ve had almost 1,000 calories of double-dipped chocolate peanuts today because I know I won’t be able to have them come Monday!

No! Lol... you caught yourself! That should make you slap that hand out of the cookie jar! 🍪 Only YOU can stop you! But we all know your struggle. I made mygoal today, but still had some popeyes popcorn shrimp as a treat. Basically stated myself except for coffee all day so I could have fried shrimp and chocolate milk for dinner. I LOVE your screen name! Ancients and Hippies Rule!!

Well, at least I'm not alone I sure do feel more successful when I stick to the plan. Now if we can just get all these treats out of the house. 🥴😋

It's that "all or nothing" perfectionists thinking. I do it all the time. If I'm not perfectly on program, I'm perfectly and completely off! Which, as you said, makes no sense. The few extra calories we ate over isn't going to make us fat! It's the stinking thinking of " oh well I blew it so I might as well eat everything in sight"!

I don't buy my tempting foods. If I get a craving, I'll make myself wait for one day. If i still want it then, I'll just go buy a single serving. Sometimes if I can wait, I usually don't want it. It's hard! I LOVE ice cream and pizza!
