I'm recording measurements again today. I last did this in August, when I weighed 169 pounds. Now down almost to my current goal weight of 156 pounds, and trousers are starting to feel loose again. In fact I had to buy a new belt this week, as the old ones are too big! That was a 'yippee' moment, I can tell you!

So measurements today are:

Height 5' 5"

Chest was 40" in August, now 39".

Waist was 36", now 33", yay! Very pleased, especially because that means that my waist size is now in the 'healthy' range!

Hips were 42", now 40.5"

My weight is hovering tantalisingly just above 156 pounds, which as well as being my current goal weight, is also the top of the healthy weight range for a woman my height. So I hope to be celebrating very soon! And then resetting my goal and carrying on down 😁

Anyone else measuring?

Congrats! That waist size measurement is so important, that had to feel great. :) I do measure a couple of times a week (calves/bicep/waist/hips) - sometimes when the scale doesn't budge, the measurements still do, which helps me get thru the waiting games. I also had to replace so many clothes that I needed some real sense of my size in order to get new ones without guessing incorrectly - a nice problem to have? Sounds like you may need to get some new things as well!

Excellent, great results! I haven't measured in a long time. Somewhere (I hope) I have the measurements I did many months ago....need to go through some stuff buried on my desk at home and find them. It'd be nice to compare to now as a measure of progress. You're doing great, congratulations on YOUR progress!

I haven't measured in a long time, since I got to one of my goal's ie.130 #. I need to do that to motivate myself. Congratulations on trimming and toning.

Congratulations! You are doing great on dropping weight and inches. I think the non-scale victories are the best.

Wow, Heidi -- the waist and hip decreases are especially impressive!! Yippee back at you for having to buy a new belt!! :D I didn't do measurements until my first PT session about 3-4 weeks ago (after I'd already lost a good bit of weight -- really wish I'd taken some at the outset to get a better sense of my 'progress') -- I have four more PT sessions left and am assuming we'll measure again the day of the last one. Even though you feel you're 'hovering' a bit at the moment (you know like everyone else here it gets harder to drop the weight the closer we get to goal), just look back at your graph line -- it's an impressive indicator of your progress/results.

Thanks all! @real_gone_girl, it is indeed a nice problem to have! I'm hoping to get through this winter with the clothes I have, and I already bought some smaller summer clothes last year. My long-term goal is to fit comfortably into a UK size 14 (I think a 10 in the States?) Don't know about Finnish sizes! There are several size systems in Europe, I just try things on till I find something that fits, lol.

Hi @heidij123, Finnish sizes are EU sizes (so like Germany)! Trivia for the day, haha. I do order from House of Fraser and Next sometimes though, so I know the UK ones (plus they often have nice petite length clothes, harder to find here)!

WTG! Congratulations on those inches reduced! I hear you about the sizes thing; it is hard to know. UK 14 is a US 10-12, depending upon the manufacturer. For example, a Ralph Lauren US 14 is the same as a UK 14; he never changed his sizing to the "new" sizing back in the 70's. Yes, I just keep trying things on until I find something that fits. I like that kind of problem when the sizes are smaller than what I was wearing previously. Don't be afraid to have "big" smaller size dreams. Onward!

I measure myself occasionally, but tend to go more on how clothes fit. Measurements are a better indicator of weight loss in the long run, as the scales can be unreliable and muscle weighs more per volume than fat :). Congratulations on your achievements so far, you must be really proud of yourself. I like your seasonal photo by the way!

I am dead pleased about the 33" waist 😁 And thanks! I agree, fit of clothes is a good way to tell how you're doing.

Great idea that. ...but am not measuring till I hit 84kg. Which is 3-4kg away.
