I have never had brisket. Is that beef?

unity1234 yes it’s beef; and it’s cooked either in the oven or on a bbq grill or a pit smoker. Here in Texas it’s a staple other than ribs, sausage and or chicken. I’ve made all of it many times over the years. I’m planning on doing more within the next few weeks.

Yes I think it’s beef. At first I thought it’s odd looking it looked like a “black log” :) I wonder
if it’s edible 😁 then I tasted it and it’s really very tasty! I froze the chicken and ribs. Too much BBQ! I gotta say tho they take BBQ seriously! I respect that and very delish too! I’ll be eating soup/broth in the following weeks :))

Oh boy. I'm sure that was wonderful. Ok. I'm not sure you want to tell your friend who gave you the smoked brisket that you made soup out of it 🤣 That was a huge gift to you! Congrads. An enormous amount of time and effort goes into the smoking process. To BBQ people it's practically their religion. I LOVE IT! I live in the south and smoked beef brisket is the best❤️ Did the soup retain any of the smokey flavor?
