I totally hear you sister, my 50 year old ass is still struggling. Gas can be super painful too! I recognize the pain and gave gas X pills that don’t work so great but do the job eventually. You are doing everything you can and it is definitely a long journey for sure. One day at a time… 💜

I got severe abdominal pain a few weeks back, eating healthier than ever. Turns out I was eating too healthy with my morning kale smoothies! Who knew you could overdose on kale?!?
I can't speak to the diet and restrictions that you are talking about. I have found that the healthiest diet for me is one rich in whole foods, high in protein, and with a healthy balance of foods.
Side note that potatoes make my belly very happy. I use that as a good whole food carb source that's not a grain.

I love the honesty in your post! We all struggle! You are an incredible woman beautiful on the outside and inside! It's so interesting to me that no matter what we have been told ( and we all get advice from every side) we have to find our own path. Finding what works for us individually is hard and always changing . Just when you think you've got it, BAM! things change and you have to adjust. I feel like as long as we are moving forward and constantly learning we will have success. You got this Mermee🩷🩷🩷🩷

Healthy or unhealthy food depends on the dose and this is a great example. Glad you got the issues resolved!

For me it's when I eat too many pears. The sorbitol can cause gas in some people.

I’m just glad you are finally seeing that truth— there is no magic bullet for nutrition. It takes a lot of research to even begin to understand the complexities. A person can get into some serious health issues going overboard with some of these diets. Same with supplements— i cringed the other day when a member said she doubled down on her vitamin B-12 dose and ended up in the ER. Try portion control and moderation, healthier eating most of the time and less healthy just once in a while. I’m hoping you are feeling better by noe

Well said! And once I get things figured out a new problem arises and I have to relearn a new strategy. It's constant. Wow! That's quite a story. Who would've thought! Unfortunately beans and veggies cause the most bloating. I wish we weren't punished for eating well. I'm glad you are doing ok and hopefully it won't be anything worse.

Your last paragraph says it all. Glad it was just 💨 and you are ok. It’s a shock that ‘healthy food’ can cause so much pain right? Take care

broccoli and eating too much whole grain will cause gas and bloating. Believe me, I know. I had to back off and follow the the low format diet somewhat. I have GI issues though also.

I wonder if beano would help? I’ve never tried it, but some people swear by it.

Contact your primary dr and ask them for a referral for a dietician / nutritionist. That's what I did. I'm glad that I did.

Cute pics, look likes you have lots of support :-) I hear you. I used to know it all and did really well on that for a while. But our age, bodies and tolerances all change, so it's all about finding your own kind of magic, and you will!

Vegetables, fruits, and legumes have alot of oxalates and can be toxic and cause severe reactions for some individuals. It's worth researching the work of Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Cywes, Georgia Ede, Sally K. Norton, and Dr. Christopher Palmer for more insights. Gathering information can help you make informed decisions about your diet. Personally, my experience with a vegan diet led to severe damage to my mitochondria. Remember to prioritize your well-being and know that I'm here to offer encouragement whenever you need it.

I basically experiment with food and how it makes me feel. I FEEL BEST with red meat, any meat, eggs, yogurt, raw cheese nuts/organic PB, kimchi a few Xs per week and fruit (any fruit).
My body recently reacted poorly to some organic corn (hadn’t had corn in 3 years). So to get my “corn fix, I guess I’ll stick w corn 🌽 flavored almonds. I get real bloated and gassy with broccoli and brussel sprouts. I DEFINITELY can’t eat ice berg lettuce. There are anti-nutrients in veggies and I believe it affects people differently. I don’t eat that many grains anymore. Only occasionally. I DID try some homemade sourdough bread 🥖 we received as a gift for teacher appreciation week. It also significantly raised my blood 🩸 sugar and bloated me big time. So, I will only eat 1/2 slice next time. Shared 1/2 the loaf w my oldest daughter. I agree w you that nutrition is hard sometimes, until you find what works. We just have to try things out and see which foods benefit our body the best.

Happy you are ok, I know I am no expert by any means- a balanced mixture of everything while watching calories seems to work. I know you are an exercise achiever. My new walking on the job has accelerated my metabolism.

I used to have the same problem with gas as I eat a ton of broccoli, cauliflower, beans, etc. I started taking a probiotic and they helped me a lot. Not so much that you don't get gas but they help your gut so that the gas moves out of you.
