I was involve for nearly 4 years (18-22) with a much older man who was controlling, abusive, and when i left him he stalked me. I had to move 4 times in less than a year. This was in the mid 80’s before the term stalking existed as a punishable offense. I finally got away from him by putting everything in someone else’s name—phone, utilities, rent etc. be careful.
