Some advice please
I’ve never posted here so please be gentle :)
If there is an increase in general daily activity/excerise! With the same amount of daily calorie intake as before. Could this show a slow down of weight drop? Would this slow down of weight drop be temporary or a new norm because of the increase in activity?
Sorry if I seem dim!

It's always a good start being more active, I imagine your weight would stabilise and as you increased your exercise, stamina permitting, and made better diet choices to put you into a calorie deficit the weight will slowly drop. good luck

You have done a great job so far! 2 things to consider. As you near your target weight, the body requires fewer calories as you get smaller so weight loss slows down. And, if you are exercising more, the body will be under strain, which causes inflammation. This may show as a slowdown or even a gain in weight. But the body will repair and renew becoming stronger and fitter. Keep doing what you are doing and monitor how the body responds. It is a fluid process that will change as your body composition changes.

You’ve done amazing 🤩! Congratulations! I found that in the past, even with increasing activity, I needed to update my total calories based on my lowest weight (which meant a reduction) whenever weight loss slowed down. I’m no expert, but hopefully people with more knowledge will respond. Good luck 👍🏽

Congratulations on your amazing progress so far. Do you measure yourself with a body tape measure? You could be losing inches even though the scale isn't showing a drop in weight.

You’re my new hero Well done for your hard work and dedication to your health and body I am not qualified to comment on your recent weight loss but recently told about changing body shape so measurement is vital. Water retention is another, and exercise making mussel is another, I’m in a very similar situation dig deep buddy and work through. All the very best on your journey.

Keep up the hard work and stay the course, you'll get there. Please consider this article which may be useful regarding the composition of your reduced calorie diet and the potential benefits of proportionally higher protein. More knowledge is always helpful. Much love. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-protein-can-help-you-lose-weight

Your replies are very helpful so thank you all! The exercise is very recent so I guess i need time to see a pattern. I am recently trying an 800 diet I was just a little shocked that after a week of exercise and staying within 800 I didn’t see any drop. Whereas before I was aiming for 1200 to 1500 and was slowly dropping. My last posted weigh-in is for 3 weeks where I wasn’t doing an 800 diet or daily exercise. I guess time will tell.

Well done on your journey so far! I would say you are building more muscle, and I also agree with the other comments regarding inflamation and changes in our calorie needs as we lose weight. all the best!

I am not sure that 800 calories is enough especially if you are exercising. In theory you should lose weight at such a low amount but your body might not be getting the nourishment it needs and might not function as well as it could. Also, make sure you are well hydrated, 2 litres a day. And get enough sleep.

I'm no expert, but as said before 800 calories seems awfully low. The body might be reacting and going into 'starvation' mode. Maybe up the calories and see what happens. Good luck anyway.

May loose weight slowly but put on muscle - they weight the same but a lb of muscle is smaller than and lb of fat. At 800 your body may not be getting enough nutrition and may slow down everything to conserve the energy as it doesn’t know how long you ‘won’t have enough for’ potentially adding 200-400 cals will increase the speed of weight loss and taking vitamin tablets will help too

Given your build 800kcal sounds more like starvation than diet. It is generally healthier to aim for a max calorie deficit, try calculating your metabolic rate using the one in the app for instance and aim for a 500kcal deficit from that point. Do that for a couple of weeks and adjust it if needed. Be mindful of diet fatigue the harder you deprive yourself the more you will have to fight yourself and run the risk of bouncing right back at the end of it. Make sure to eat protein and do some form of strength training to prevent losing muscle instead of fat. But most importantly congrats on your efforts and success so far!!!

Thank you all for the advice. I have uppped my Cals for this week as my drop last week wasn’t as good as on previous weeks with no exercise. I guess I just need to find a balance that works for me.

Hi! I couldn't pass by and say nothing. 800 cal per day is a crime! You stopped loosing weight because of the cortisol, your body in stress because of this low calorie intake. You should aim to slow 🐌 weight loss, more change of a lifestyle, rather than quick drop and than yo-yo effect. If you need help, I can calculate your macros for you (Free of charge). I'm a fitness trainer.

Ah, and the other thing. What are you usually eating now? Calories are not all the same! The source of them what is matters the most!

So I had a week of minimum of 1200 calories per day and min of 30 mins exercise every day and had a 2kg drop for the week So I will work with that and as I get stronger will up the exercise and keep checking it. Thank you all again for your help
