Took a young friend out for a birthday lunch today. I chose the restaurant for her benefit: She loves plantains, and she wanted to try the sandwich invented here in Chicago -- it's called a jibarito, and it's a sandwich that uses smashed and fried plantains instead of bread. I hate plantains -- but I was able to have an omelet. But something about the food made me burp for the rest of the afternoon. I just had a second of the day yogurt shake for dinner. I was hungry, but nothing really appealed to me. I'm glad my friend liked her lunch, but I'm not going back there any time soon!
