Some thoughts on my birthday.
Today I turned 52 but my favourite birthday present was given to me 8+ months ago a few hours after being diagnosed as a T2 diabetic. The LCHF (Ketogenic) diet came as a revelation to me. I had no idea about 'insulin resistance' and simply did not consider that my strictly vegetarian diet (for 25+ years) was making the situation worse rather than better. I am still a vegetarian but the food I eat has changed dramatically since starting on LCHF. I now weigh 120+ pounds less than I did a year ago and for the first time in years, I feel fantastic. The Metformin and Statin prescriptions are now a distant memory as my need for them simply disappeared after a few weeks on the diet. I'm now only 29 pounds above the top of my ideal weight range and I feel positive that this time next year I will be well within that range.
I love the LCHF way of eating and would encourage anyone who, like me, has struggled all of their lives with obesity to give it a try for a couple of months.

Hiya,
I keep a close watch on all of my nutrients and make sure that I hit 100%+ on all of them, I just don't bother to put them onto this website as I use Cronometer as well. I don't eat fruit because of the high levels of fructose causing problems with blood glucose levels.
