I watched a frightening programme on TV last night called "Globesity". I charted the rising tide of obesity worldwide, particularly in the emerging economies. It showed how the big multinational food companies (they particularly singled out Coco Cola and Nestlé), are flooding these areas with small, cheap goods which the poor can afford. As a result, obesity and Diabetes levels are horrendous. In Mexico, many of the primary schools were reported to have no drinking water, but the schools sell cheap Coca Cola, in its place. The programme makers basically said that the governments are in the pockets of large multinationals, throughout the world, and because of this obesity is here to stay. If this is true it is a worse legacy than global warming.

Scary isn't it- Unfortunately the super rich are running the world and we have very little influence on it.

If people don't get ill, the other major multi-nationals don't benefit - the big pharma. It's going to take more than boycotting companies like Nestle & Coca-Cola as although big names, they're just the tip of the iceberg

I have found that since changing to LCHF it costs a fortune to feed me. I don't know how long I can keep it up. I feel so sorry for poor people who have no option.

A book called the Diet Delusion by Gary Taubes that we think is one of the best expositions on the way the body use foods ever, the single best book ever! JockoT has read the sequel too!

The sequel is the "Lite" version of "Diet Delusion". All the information, but much easier to read. It is called "Why We Get Fat: And What to Do about It".
