I had my yearly visit to my cardiologist yesterday. Blood pressure was 116/67 and I've been off BP meds for a couple months now. 18 lbs lighter than last year's visit which is an agonizingly slow loss from my perspective. But in his view I'm doing all the right things and continuing to work on being healthier and improving my condition. EKG was perfect. 3 years ago in his view I was destined for bypass surgery at some point in the future and I felt like a ticking time bomb. Now I have full blood flow in all my coronary arteries and can do strenuous exercise with no discomfort or problems and run 5K's. Proof that with changes in diet and exercise it's possible to reverse heart disease.

Looks to be a beautiful Spring day here and will get to the low 60's. I just got my new micro-light fishing rod/reel yesterday, it collapses down to the size of a pen, actually looks like a pen with the cap on it. So I'll be running (literally) over to a lake at lunch to see if there are any trout biting. Here's a pic of it:

Here's where I'm going, a lake in the middle of a conservation park next to where I work, about a half-mile hike through the woods:

@Bruce - I'd love to go steelhead fishing. My only fishing trip to Canada was when I was High School w/ the Boy Scouts. Went on a canoe trip into the lake country above Minnesota for a couple weeks. Unfortunately I caught more mosquitoes than fish, but had a great time. I hope when I retire I can make some fishing trips to different places.

Wow, I've never seen a micro fishing rod/reel before, that is the coolest, hope you catch something. Oh yeah, the lake is beautiful!

Brenda, I didn't catch a thing during lunch. But took a wrong turn in the woods so 20 minutes to run there, 25 minutes to fish, and 15 minutes to run back. Didn't get much fishing in. But I had fun and the rod/reel work nicely, it really casts well. It'll take some getting used to due to the size. Tomorrow I'll try the closer pond which'll give me more time to fish. It's hard to do a lot in an hour.

Nyhardhat - No trout caught, I did hook a small bluegill, but only little ones were biting. I'm going to try another closer pond at lunch today. Had fun though.
