Getting a late start on my breakfast and thought I'd check in on recent developments between bites.
I'm had a WOO moment followed by a BOO moment.

First the WOO... today was the day to do my two month measurement checkup and I'm super happy to see I'm down 14 1/2 inches overall in my neck down to ankle measuring!

Now the BOO... I just noticed the Silk almond milk I had my mister pick up for me is the original sweetened with cane sugar kind!

Ugg *feeling stabby*

So I had to go back and fix yesterday's food diary, and I'm undecided about what to do today. I'm thinking an experiment is in order. The thing is, drinking it didn't throw me out of ketosis and I still lost today. I had planned on having almond milk as part of my lunch and that leaves me with 2 problems. 1) my mister won't be home with the right one until late tonight, and 2) nobody in my house is gonna drink it, and I hate being a waster.

So I was thinking I'd use it today as planned and see if I'm still in ketosis and if I doesn't cause me to stall or gain tomorrow. I know since it has added sugar it's on the 'no no' list, but I'm still in range carbwise and I'd prefer to not be a waste-y wasterson. Not to mention I'm curious as heck now to see what happens. I've got a real curiosity problem. 😞

Hi Christine what a bummer about the almond milk,I hope it doesnt screw you up but I think for myself it will cause other cravings I would toss it out myself. wouldnt be worth the chance. Then again I am not very strong when it comes to sugar, maybe you can deal with the cravings. Great job logging and keeping your eats clean! Way to go!

you could also freeze it in small amounts to use when making cloud bread or other recipes. That way you aren't using much at a time. that is what i do with the coconut milk.

Lol I get the regular unsweetened and flavor it myself as needed. I can't buy it already yummeh because I use it in soups and stuffs. Vanilla broccoli chedder is no buenos!

Very good, Christine! it's tough to figure out how these products are sweetened. My diet says Stevia only, but I cheat a little with juice sweeteners, and the like in some drinks. The way I look at it, is at least the diet coke is gone.

Great loss of inches! I'm with you, hate to throw anything out. Perhaps you could water it down by 1/3 so each serving would be less carb. As I recall the carb difference between sweetened and unsweetened is not very great.

Waste vs Diet -- I know you're not on Weight Watchers, but back when I was ... they had a useful bit of wisdom: would you rather waste $5 on a bit of food by tossing it instead of finishing it, or waste $20+ on an extra month or more of fees, because you stalled/etc.? Sure, you're probably not paying fees, but you get the idea. Eating food you know you shouldn't has a cost ... and the money is actually the smallest part of the cost. Your weight loss momentum, the self esteem you've been building along with the weight loss momentum, etc. All of that is at risk when you finish a food you realize you shouldn't have started consuming in the first place, if you finish eating it. That's a much higher cost, IMO, than the price of a carton of almond milk. When you realize you shouldn't have started consuming something, stop consuming it. It's not waste to toss it, it's progress.

Thanks trackin64. Yeah, it went from less than a gram per serving to 7 grams. Not too big of a deal carbwise if Im careful the restof the day.

Johnkzin... I consumed a cup of said almond milk yesterday and weighed 1.4 lbs less today. I'm currently not working so money matters. I'm not tossing it out without seeing first if it causes me trouble. Whatever the outcome, I will be making sure I'm opening the right product after the mister comes home with it....annnd that will be the unsweetened that I've been getting from now on.

Welp...I'm down another pound this morning so it seems as if the one daily serving of the evil original silk soy milk isn't screwing me up. I will continue to use it until it's gone while keeping my carbs for the rest of the day in check, so I stay in range. Curiosity didn't kill the cat this time 🐈👍
