Had to go back to the hospital again Friday because the pain was so bad. The good news is, by the time I was released on Saturday morning, the stone had moved almost all the way toward its departure route, so that's somewhat encouraging. I am still scheduled for lithotripsy on Thursday, but I am hoping maybe the stone leaves on its own before then. You never know, I could get lucky. This is getting really boring.

That does sound like you have a shot at passing it naturally. Good luck!

Drink cranberry juice. I have no idea if that helps ... but, it would be great to pass that stone!

Mom - No No No! Cranberry juice makes kidney stones worse. Cranberry juice is good for bladder issues, but ironically it contains the chemicals that promote kidney stones, so it turns out that if you have kidney stones, you have to stop drinking cranberry juice. Do you believe how complicated this is?

Ok so now I am caught up with your situation. I feel for you as this has been a few weeks now, and that pain is terrible. God bless.

So no need to worry further about this kidney stone: It has left the building, and I have confirmed with the doctor that I don't need any further treatment for this, and life can now go on as it was before this whole adventure began. I have learned that my new urologist is an expert on nutrition and kidney stones, so I am going to see him later this month to talk to him about what I can do to balance the limits of my IBS diet with the issues associated with kidney stones.

Sounds like something good will come out of the all the pain and aggravation you have gone through, if you can get some good info on diet to help prevent future occurrences and not cause problems with your other medical issues. So glad you are better!!
