Whatever, stupid scale. Guess my body just doesn't want to drop to my goal weight yet. I've calculated 1600k for maintenance so I have been keeping my calories around 1100-1300 for weight loss. Following strict LCHF, drinking at least 64oz (more like 80 oz) of water a day, started 30-40 minutes of strength training almost daily. Just gonna keep on keeping on. I've only been at this a month so I guess I just need to be patient and practice what I preach...LOL. Happy (Taco) Tuesday everyone!

I feel ya, ImLaura! I am doing daily weigh ins just for tracking trends. I really don't get totally discouraged by the weight increases because I have seen dramatic daily decreases as well. It sure is interesting how the body can fluctuate so much! I truly had no idea. I also heard that it takes drinking sufficient water in order to lose water weight. If we allow ourselves to get dehydrated our bodies do hang on to the water. The other factor, if I am correct is it takes 3500 calories to gain a pound. So unless you've consumed that over and above your daily MBR...it is so unlikely that our increases are actual fat gains.

For sure you have the right attitude I'm not certain why are bathroom scales can be so obstinate at times all you can do is follow the rules you have set for yourself and sooner hopefully sooner rather than later the body and the scales will comply

Ditto all the great comments above ImLaura... Focus more on how you FEEL and all the NSV rather than the scale... You WILL get to your target weight SOONER than later!

Paddlegirl, yep and yep. agree 100%... now I just have to remember all that when I have one of those bumps on my daily weigh in. Just getting ready to post today's weight, and yep, it came right back down. Scales are so wonky!!!... or should I say, our BODIES are so wonky...and miraculous. I am giving up on trying to predict my loss/gain because it is a lesson in futility!

I thought about going with just whiskey, but, really that's a little too upper crust, in hindsight, cocaine and vodka are a much more cohesive fit. lol

Sweet Warren... thanks for looking out for me. My man travels tons and reminds me of that often. I am careful... if i'm not with him, then i'm with several of my girlies... never alone, and always being careful. I never have more than two unless I am with him. And let's keep it real... we are in our 50's. Not only have we been around the block numerous times, we also aren't really the ones the opportunists are keeping their eye on... LOL. Still, appreciate the concern

Laura, you are soooo funny. I was in my own mind, giving you a hard time about the booze. Phil and I sometimes play off each other. I am getting to the age, when I get those free drinks in Vegas, it always hits me the next day, and I love those Irish Coffees and the Baileys. I know you are, I won't say a "big girl", how about a "wise lady". lol

Just remember that muscle weighs more than fat. You should try to do more cardiovascular exercise than strength training.

Ahhh...Jamiqua...I must respectfully disagree! Actually a pound of muscle weighs exactly the same as a pound of fat. The difference is the muscle is a lean pound and much smaller and firmer than a pound of fat. And nothing will tighten and firm your body more than lifting weights! :)

I don't often drink alcoholic beverages, but when I do, it's not freaking Dos Equis. I go with top shelf whiskey or tequila, like Johnnie Walker Blue Label or Chinaco Anejo. I haven't drank any vodka since I was in high school, lol, it was right up there with Boone's Farms and Mad Dog 20/20. hahaha But seriously, I stopped regular recreational drinking before I turned thirty, I might have something over rocks in an old fashioned glass a couple of time a year anymore, but I haven't been intoxicated in going on twenty years. lol
