Done! Day 5 complete! I'm still not hungry so I am going to leave it alone for the night and see what tomorrow brings...mainly because I don't feel like cooking, it's too damned hot to turn on the stove!!!!! I'm having another one of those on top of the world days actually. Mom called me this morning while I was at work and asked me to go grocery shopping with her. I told her that I had no interest in food at the moment but I would go to keep her company. Turns out, she wanted me to choose her foods. She said she is going to give LCHF a try. So I walked her around the outer edges of the grocery store and got her a weeks worth of fresh whole foods. Coconut oil, butter, heavy cream, brazil nuts, walnuts, whole chickens, pork roast, hamburger, cauliflower, kale, lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, yard eggs (from my house) sour cream, cheese, pepper, onions, avocados, cherries and strawberries. I had to peel her away from the watermelon and cantaloupe in the produce area, the berries were all the fruits she can have right now and I bought snack size baggies so I could portion them out for her. I could not convince her to leave the two twelve packs of Diet Rite soda behind, I let it alone because she came to me on her own and asked for help. No need to force any more changes on her just yet. I made her up some menus and helped portion out the fruits. She stays up all night and sleeps most of the day so her breakfast is usually after 1 pm and her dinner starts at 2 pm and continues till bed time. I gave her an eating window of 1pm to 8pm and nothing in between. I have instructed her to take her blood sugar once before she gives herself her first injection of insulin and if her blood sugar is not high, don't do the injection. She has a bad habit of just getting up, giving herself a shot and knocking her blood sugar down too low. She goes to see the Doctor Monday morning and I told her to take the menus with her and see if the Dr wants to adjust her insulin or if she has tips on how to adjust it according to her fasting glucose readings....but what it boils down to is...she is of her own accord making an attempt to do something. This is not the first time she has done this, she started out once before and then got all upset when her lipid panels were poor and her weight was up, she was cheating and did not want to admit to it, so she said the Doctor told her to get off of that diet....this is the same doctor I was seeing back then and he has since been replaced. Misty will monitor her the way she needs to be monitored for this to work. Once again, I am not sharing my Fat Secret with her, call me selfish if you wish...but I don't want to share my support group with her. Things I have shared with her before caused issues and I don't need her judging me here too. So she is set up with MFP for tracking her food. I gotta have some place to complain about her! But I am happy that she is once again motivated to do SOMETHING! She was showing me off at Walmart...I have not been in the pharmacy in a while and she grabbed my shirt and pulled it tight around my waist and was telling the pharmacist...look at her..she has lost so much weight. Bless her heart, she is proud of me even though she won't just say it to me! We have Mother-Daughter issues....what can I say? So a good day here on the farm!
