Well done again Jocko, very interesting journal too. Maybe I should try it on the days I am not working. Trouble is I worry about my thyroid as I have only just recently got my levels right with the medication. Something to consider though.

I too have Thyroid issues, having had an overactive thyroid put out of action a number of years ago. My doctor is continually adjusting my Thyroxine medication. She had to do so when I moved to LCHF and will probably do so at the next check. I am certainly not aware of any ill effects but there again, since starting the medication I never have. As for Power Naps, I don't think so. Unless of course they are long enough for your body to use up all the readily available Glucose in your system!

Agh.. maybe that's why I look so young !!!!!!! LOL
Lots of power naps and fabulous dreams to boot.
Love the lb down since yesterday Jocko, you knew that yesterday and did not get yourself stressed by the look of it.
As for Thyroid issues, I don't have one at all.. taken out when I was a teenager.
How was yours taken out of action... did you have surgery? 45 years ago I was given Iodine to drink mixed with milk. UGH (Iodine is needed for the production of thyroid hormone)

Radioactive Iodine, taken by mouth. It goes straight to the Thyroid and if the dosage is correct (!!!), regulates it. Four months later I had gained 4 stone and my eyes wouldn't focus right. Optician sent me scurrying to the doctor and the doctor diagnosed my Thyroid was kaput. Been on Thyroxine ever since.

I read that in the Dr. Fung's book but it is good to see it re-iterated again in your post. You are a living example that these fasts work! A beauty treatment. I never considered that ... rejuvenating dead cells. It's certainly something to think about. I think it is time we get some before and after pics. Has anyone commented on your appearance yet?

I continually get comments from people I haven't seen for a spell. The usual questions are "Did you intend to lose weight?" or "Have you been ill?". I suppose, at my age, a sudden loss of weight has to be viewed as a possible sign of serious illness! I'll post a couple of pics in a new Journal Entry.

My consultant decided to take my thyroid out when I was 18. I couldn't keep the iodine down and threw it up every time. Gosh!
Poor you Jocko, it affected your eyes..as well as gaining all that weight. Interesting stuff😵
So it was OK I think to have been constantly sick back then !?, I didn't put weight on during that time . I didn't manage to keep any food down. I was forced to rest and was admitted to hospital several times because I wouldn't 😱 Well I was only 16 at that point !!🏃🏃

My face was all puffed up with the extra weight and it squeezed my eyes somewhat. The optician saw my astigmatism had changed and he said that never changes naturally.
