Today is definitely Monday. On Friday night, it snowed here in NY for the first time since the freak October blizzard. Somehow, that set the mood for the entire weekend. I do not like snow, and I do not like to be outside when there is snow on the ground, and I definitely do not like driving in snow. So, I spent the entire weekend in the house, trying to get some cleaning done, but not really putting too much energy into it. I also skipped my daily Wii yoga sessions on Saturday, Sunday, and this morning. I'm not thrilled with myself, but I feel like I needed this weekend off.
The scale jumped up 3 lbs since Friday morning, and I'm not sure why. I'm not overly concerned about it, because I know I'm getting into better physical condition. I think it may have something to do with hydration; I probably wasn't drinking enough water through the past week to make up for all the exercise, and I must have made up for it over the weekend. I also drank a lot of diet soda over the weekend, which I haven't been doing lately, so that may also be a contributing factor. I'm going to cut back on the soda and see what happens.
We have another kickboxing class tonight, and I'm actually looking forward to it. It's kind of fun, if a bit "girly", and it has been a little easier each time, so it must be doing something. I have decided that I'm going to keep going to kickboxing classes after my pre-paid classes are used up, but I'm not planning to do the karate lessons. Once I get into better shape, I may look into MMA schools, because I think it will fit better with my personality and the training I already have from the military. But my first priority is to lose some fat and build up my strength.
My Roomba arrived on Friday, and I already love the thing. It doesn't have great power, as vacuums go, but it drives itself around the room several times, so the floors get pretty clean. It is pretty funny to watch, too. It reminds me of one of those old battery-powered toy cars I used to have as a kid, the ones that would drive into a wall, then back up and turn around, just to drive into a different wall. One side effect of this is that it kind of bumps into anything on the floor, including whatever clutter and junk is around, and it can get caught up in stuff if there are strings or small pieces. So, it kind of forces you to de-clutter, or "Roomba-proof", your house in order to use it, which is a little annoying, but a good thing in our case.
Anyhow, I'm feeling a little more energetic today, and hopefully I will recoup my losses from the weekend.
