That's me not long back from mountain biking, a really long hard day, the calorie count will acknowledge that, 28 miles, 4 hours riding and 2110 calories burnt. All the numbers l like to see. Half the time is taken from climbing lol stuck in my granny gear and spinning, hence the 2000 calories, mixed weather, sun, windy and heavy rain, yeah just another day in Britain lol. I had 100g porridge with fruit on top with a slice of toast and peanut butter. And a big mug of tea to wash it down. I took with me , a banana, apple, mixed nuts and 3lts of water. When I got back l had a protein shake made from water to kickstart muscle repair and cleaned the bike ready for the next trip out and jumped in the shower. That took an hour or so. I then had a full meal, Diet Coke Chicken, mix vegetables and baby spuds. That will keep me going till I eat my evening meal later, if l get peckish l will have fruit. I will have more carbs later as l am out on my road bike tomorrow. Hoping to get in a 40 miler or more depending on weather and of course how I feel lol I normally get my legs loose within the first 10 miles and then it's just set a pace and keep spinning. Only a few small hills tomorrow thank goodness. I will be with a mate of mine so we will end up pushing each other. Just be taking peanut butter sandwiches tomorrow and a bit of fruit. Normal porridge and that for breakfast. Let you know how it went tomorrow. Take care bye for now

inspiring stuff. I wish that I had somewhere to cycle (and a bike to cycle on) but my home town is not conducive to safe cycling

Hi Willie, I have cycled all my life, in fact I don't remember a time when I didn't have a bike, I have mountain biked since the day I saw a mountain bike in America at the very beginning. I had a frame made and fitted all the parts I had purchased in America and for a while was the only guy in Germany who rode off road on a purpose made bike. Happy days lol

Where do you live, Willie? I'm guessing far Asia by your timings and some foods posted. Thomas - I've lost my cycling nerve, can't afford my motorcycling nerve 😉

@thomas - Used to be a cyclist. indeed my daily commute was 20 miles round trip by bike. Faster than a car and healthier than taking bus/train. An unfortunate accident on 2010 put paid to my cycling

@phooka - try a search on YouTube for "crazy Jakarta traffic", you will see where I live and why a bike is ill advised
