This past weekend, I ran into someone that I hadn't seen for about six months. He is a guy mid-forties. He had lost about 100 pounds, and friends told me that he had even run a marathon. However, when I saw him, my immediate thought was that he must have had cancer; he looked awful. He looked to be mid-sixties. Now, he didn't look awful because he was mid-sixties; I am mid-sixties. He looked awful because he was mid-forties. :) It begged the question: When is enough, enough? I want to lose weight for my health, but I think I will carry a little reserve around, no matter what the insurance charts tell me.

I have seen that w/people I know as well. Sure they are now thin, but they look older and bedraggled. Not sure why.

Hi Sandy! I have been around; just haven't had the time to adjust to the new FS settings. I just figured out that I could still follow my Buddy's posts by clicking on "Show Actrive from/Following/More" and click to show post from those you are following. That helps. I still wish they would allow you to sort to see who hasn't been on for a long time. Makes it easier to reach out to those who may have given up. Anyway, great to see you and Rubie-sue are still chugging along. Heck, I've probably been through 3 more motorcycles since I last heard from you. :)

3 more motorcycles? LOL! As long as you are having fun! That is very cool. Yes, that is what I do ... click on 'following' ... but I find it easier to keep up with the email updates on a daily basis ... that way I can see who is posting.

I've seen that too and I wonder if it is simply genetics or how long the person was big. However, I do think you need to do your strength training and interval training in parallel with weight loss. Maybe not at first but once you lose fifty then you need to ratchet up the muscle development. Also, it may be helpful to take some skin supplements such as collagen to help with elasticity. And, maybe some fasting to help reorient the body. Again, these are just thoughts and ideas and I could be completely wrong but gotta believe in something :)

After dropping as much weight as I have, I look different, that's for sure, and it's not necessarily better. I weighed in today at my doctors appointment, first time I had weighed in a long time, and I've gained 34 pounds, no sweat, I'm not stressing over it, I know I can drop that much in a month, question really is, do I want to, not sure at this point, probably will, but no hurry.

A problem also depends on what the person is doing to lose weight. Are they eating healthy or are they just eating less?
