So I've been "off the grid" lately; thankfully I still get notifications from my FatSecret friends. Way to go on the weight loss, guys! Today we have an orientation on the new house(?), and a week from today we close! Woo hoo!!! And hence the reason I've been "off the grid," just too excited/distracted to really focus on diet & exercise. In fact, I've REALLY fallen off the exercise bandwagon, but I expect that will change soon. Got to start packing up stuff this weekend - hey, packing & moving counts as exercise, right?

I bought a "Diabetes Meals for One or Two" cookbook as a sort of housewarming gift for myself, among others.... Anyway, even though my hubby's surgery went well & he's no longer taking meds, I think it's important to keep an eye on the diet so that he doesn't undo all that pain and expense. Plus it probably won't hurt me any to try this diet for awhile. Both my brother & sister have Type II, so it COULD be in my future if I'm not careful. My brother has also moved, sadly to a nursing home. At least he's lost some weight and like my hubby no longer has to take meds. I've recently read a study in the U.K. that says a weight loss of roughly 32 lbs could "cure" Type II diabetes. Well, if THAT isn't a good reason for weight loss I don't know what is! I'll stay in touch, let everyone know how this cookbook is working once I get settled into my new house (SOOOO Excited!!!)!
