I used to be known locally as the bread queen. A few years ago I had to give up ALL grains among other things. I remember being at a crossroads one day as I took the bread from the oven, feeling sorry for myself and hurting that I couldn't eat any. Well, I realised I could either hurt or not, that was down to me and my attitude.
I decided to embrace it and feel good about my lot instead of feeling hard done by. After all, I still got to make and bake the bread, smell the wonderful aroma - nothing like the smell of fresh bakied bread is there - listen to the crunch of the crust as I cut it for my family, take their thanks praise for a job well done AND NOT have to eat it. So all the good bits, none of the bad, I call that a win win!
I love baking bread, I get to bake bread, job done. Nothing to say I have to eat it.
