I didn't realise how attached I have become to my lifestyle.
I had my 3 remaining wisdom teeth extracted on Monday, and this week has just been the worst. Don't get me wrong, it's been ordinary in just about every way. But for me, it's been terrible. I am dealing with the pain of recovery (which has thankfully lessened so far this morning). I cannot workout for another day, at minimum. And best/worst of all, my eating habits are terrible.
Okay, not terrible, but not good. I had intended to keep to my container counts, but that was quickly cast aside for food that won't put me in agony (there is only so much cottage cheese/apple sauce one can eat). I planned for only one day of recovery, because when I had one wisdom tooth pulled six years ago, I was eating Chinese food that very afternoon. So, having a whole day devoted to soft food was still planning ahead and, I thought, overkill! I went out to lunch with my mommy the day after my extraction and ate chicken and dumplings (mostly dumplings), because they were super soft and comforting. And I felt okay about it, eating -something- was more important than eating healthy.
But, I was not prepared to still be in a bunch of pain yesterday, so much so that I woke up crying about it. I had to freeze my lunch prep, because I feared it going to go to waste, and eat whatever soft foods I could find in my house. I had some leftover pureed lentil and sweet potato soup. Later my mouth was hurting something awful and I used it as an excuse to eat some ice cream. Not like a TON, mind you, but still. It was fun, and felt naughty to eat ice cream on a Wednesday. (Though, I dread this week's weigh-in, if I do it at all. 😣)
And then suddenly last night, I got very emotional. I cried and all. I am ready to go back to normal. I want to workout. I want to eat my regular, healthy food. I'm tired already of "cheating."
I'm ready to be back on track.
2 more days.
