I am a 42 year old State employee who has recently been diagnosed with heart disease. I had a radical hysterectomy in 1999 and have been gaining weight ever since. I'm off of the hormones now and hoping to lose 20-25 pounds in the next year or so. I am walking 30 minutes a day and have cut my calories to 1200-1500. I also take the stairs at work. Low fat and high protein seems to work for me. I have to keep watch on cholest.,salt intake and triglycerides.
