As part of my 2020 lifestyle overhaul I've decided to start keeping a food and exercise journal.
I started the year at my Physicians Assistant appointment on January 23rd weighing 189.6kg or roughly 418lbs on the follow up visit February 18th I weighed 185kg or 405lbs. Both of these numbers were taken on a 12 hour fast for blood work.
I currently weigh 392lbs according to my home scale**
*This measurement was taken after dinner all subsequent measurements will be taken around breakfast for consistency reasons since my PA appointments are always in the mornings.
** My home scale and the scale at my PA are off by a few lbs.
While this site has a goal of 3600kcal a day for my Recommended Daily Intake I'm aiming for 2500kcal a day not counting exercise calories. For every calorie burned exercising I'll eat 50% back.
The reason for me eating 2500kcal is
1. Eating 3600kcal would be hard to do without falling back into bad unhealthy habits like eating a whole frozen pizza and having some chicken bites.
2. I feel that the 3600kcal for my RDI if I'm trying to lose weight is a little high considering my Maintenance is:
~3300kcal using the Mifflin-St Jeor Formula
~3700kcal using the Harris Bennedict Revised Formula.
3. I want to aim to lose 2 pounds a week until I get to a more reasonable weight and using the average of those 2 popular TDEE formulas my maintenance level is 3500kcal so 2500kcal would be a 1000 calorie a day deficit or 7000kcal a week (2 pounds as 1 pound is 3500kcal)
4. 2500kcal would be a realistic RDI all the way to when I try to reach near my goal weight of 180lbs so I would be maintaining a similar diet for the entire time.
