Another low weight reached today. I am really working the YMCA diabetes prevention program, but they switched materials in mid stream. They are now subscribing to the CDC Diabetes prevention program, which is similar, but different.

Why is this working so well, after 30 years of mostly putting on the pounds. I am rock solid confident in the tracking system (and specifically using the Fatsecret food diary tracker). If I put every thing that I eat into the tracker, I know why I lose or gain weight. Also, learning where the big calorie ticket items are and limiting them (which becomes easier by using the tracker as there is a record of accountability to ones self). My big ticket items were peanut butter, roasted shelled peanuts (usually in a bowl on the counter, eaten small handfuls at a time), 1/2 gallon of milk a day habit (now broken), ice cream, and lots o cheese (individually or in recipes).

My big push is to now figure out how to eat more balanced meals. I still have way more sweets than recommended under the balanced plate approach to meal planning. I have upped my fruit intake significantly, but need to work on more fresh veggies.
