I hope your Mother's surgery goes well. My sister went through that in 2014, she is cancer free now.

Amber— Fasting at a time when you are under stress might not be the best time to start. Better to at least eat in moderation, making some better food choices. Your body needs nutritional support to help deal with stress effectively.

I did just eat a piece of chicken and green beans so I think it will tide me over. I’m just feeling sad and upset right now but I think it will pass when the surgery is over.

Look at it this way— they found it. Now just support her and be there for the next phase. A reminder to all you ladies. Get your mammogram. Be sure to participate with her medical team in terms of did they do the genetic testing that can now help with assessing risk for other gals in your family, you, a sister, or your mom’s sister if she has one.

Where I live they start at 40. I started at 38 due to a scare. I haven’t missed one in 7 years!! It’s very important Kenna. Thank you for nudging those who think it’s silly. ❤️

Breast cancer treatment has come such a long way in relatively few years. Now they can do DNA on the tumors to help guide therapy choices and the drugs that will be most effective if chemo is indeed required. Tell your mom she will be in my prayers. You too— it’s hard.
