I've plateaued, but that's A OKAY! Because, I'm now working out 6 days a week instead of 2 days a week. And for almost 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours from 30 minutes, so I know the issue 🥴🏃‍♀️. I'm also adding strength training to my cardio, so, yeah. BUT! I would like your advice, especially those who are 50 years young and younger.

🤔So, my grandmother is trying to lose weight, but she gives up easily because she gains insanely easily. I would like advice from others around her young age to see how she can lose weight, but she has a host of medical problems.

1. Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis.
2. Hypothyroidism (Sadly genetic, and something all the women in our family battle with.)
3. She has an enlarged heart (1 1/2 times the size of a normal heart)
4. High Blood Pressure
5. She has a hole IN HER SPINE, so no sudden twisting movements or falling or she could instantly die.
6. Not too much red meat because she gets severe gout
7. She doesn't eat much but once a day, sometimes not at all, and I've seen her plate. It's no more than 1,200 - 1,400 calories MAX.
8. She has also an untreated epigastric hernia.
9. And diabetes

😢I just don't know how to help her. And her doctor just keeps telling her that she's obese and needs to lose weight. And she doesn't want any help when she needs it because she's so stubborn! But nothing hurts my heart more than seeing my grandma crawling on the floor just to get to the bathroom because the pain is so severe, but refuses any help 😭.Any advice would be lovely.

V-- That's my grandma and grandpa by the way. 🥰💕💕

Due to her medical conditions, I wouldn't take advice off of here. I'd work with her primary care doctor and a nutritionist.

Beautiful family! Best of luck to her on her journey and you are a great granddaughter to want her to be healthy.

Adam has a great point - work with her health care team...make a plan she can agree to. the other part is that you need to take care of you too...there is a lot of stress in being a care giver for family members. Maybe some counseling or a support group for you and her. I think it is awesome that you are there for your grand parents.

With all these health issues, I'm going with everyone else. Get a good nutritionist and have them help set a plan.

Her primary health carer doctor just tells her she's fat, and she keeps going to him because my grandfather loves him. The doctor has a thing against women, and he never helps her with what she needs. I remember going to the doctor with her one day for blood pressure medicine, and he said, "Well, there's no more options left for medication since you're allergic to most of them." Without looking into others, and he basically said she'll just DIE and was like 'Oh well' , and I 🤬chewed his ass so hard that my grandma left the office laughing. She left with new blood pressure medication that helped her that he didn't consider giving her. He's horrid! I hate him. But she won't go to a nutritionist- because of money, and won't go to another doctor because of my grandpa, so I was just really trying to find help anywhere. 😫

Most health departments have free nutritionist's. Call your closest one and see if they offer them.

@C Dawg09, thyroid problems aren't limited to women. I hope you the best for the condition that you have. I know it's tough, so just keep at it. 💗

@Najwa Kale, Thank you. I love my grandparents so much. I'd do anything for them. I really appreciate your comments. 💗

@Angel_Face, hm, I didn't know they could be free. Maybe she'll go for it? Cross your fingers! I found one, and I think she's affordable, and has great reviews. I just don't think I can let my grandma know, or else she'll pay me what I paid her and force me to cancel the help of a nutritionist. Let the odds ever be in my favor 🙏

Awe♥️🥰 Definitely reach out to her doctors and a nutritionist.

@Jcmama, Thank you 💗🤗. I'll reach out to a nutritionist, but her doctor is as useful as tits on a bull.

I think everyone here has the same concerns about that Dr. she needs a nutritionist that can work with her metabolism.

@Iderminio, her doctor is horrid...she wants a new one, but my grandpa gets into fits when he doesn't get what he wants (Dementia). So, she just continues seeing the doctor. I just hope I can sway her to see a nutritionist. Thank you, Iderminio. 💕🥴

She can always start by eliminating processed foods, sugar and white flour. That's pretty basic and good for everyone. But I urge you to find a different doctor for her; she needs someone who's going to help her feel better. Override or convince your grandfather!

Doesn't she have a Rheumatologist as well as an Endocrinologist? Those two specialists should be her starting point. A primary care doctor who doesn't like women is not looking out for her. Although my list of conditions are not as long, we do share the thyroid issue. Sorry, I am not one of the young ones, but without my primary diagnosis from UC Davis and my subsequent treatment program from UCLA Medical Center's Neurology Team, I might be in your grandmother's shoes. Please take care of you and maybe some subtle questions might help. ♥️🙏♥️

@Erikahollister, I've tried getting her a new doctor, and so has my mom. We've tried and tried, but it's something my grandpa will not budge on. It breaks my heart to see the way that doctor treats her. He talks over her, and doesn't listen to anything she has to say about her health, and she asks for help, but gets none. I'm going to try again. Thank you!

@Erquiaga, your age doesn't matter, I just put that in to see if anyone was near her age with the same problems. If you can help is all that matters. She doesn't have a Rheumatologist or an Endocrinologist. She just has a primary health doctor and an Optimologist, but that's unrelated.Thank you! 🤗💗💗💗
