Okay. I’m not sure about weighing in everyday. Accountability is important, but discouragement is a real factor, too. I’m on day nine of this journey, so I think I’ll hold off on making a decision on this issue. What do y’all do? And why?

On another note, how many calories do you burn shivering? ‘Cause I’m freezing over here! I’m cold all day long! I haven’t been cold like this for 20 years (since my hysterectomy), but my
post-Covid self is 🥶.

I weigh in every day to make applicable adjustments or see the results of the prior day and take note of how I feel. However, I plan to log only 1x/week as I have no interest in obsessing over food, or the scale, as much as having control over my gut health, energy levels and emotional health. The gut health thing is helped with journaling everything that goes in your tummy.

Thank you, Aimee. I have gut issues myself, and weighing every day doesn’t necessarily reflect what it’s really going on with me, I think. Besides the pandemic adjustments, several different family situations have been going on in the past 19 months, so I have neglected my self care. Not an excuse, just an observation. Trying to just make healthier choices and be aware of what I eat right now.

That makes total sense completely! I weigh myself because I had wls and having hit 310, one of the constant messages to avoid gaining weight after surgery was to address the issue fast (5 lbs or less) than wait for 10 or 15. But only log it weekly to make sure I keep it real vs reactionary. Relying on how you look apparently(lol) does not work. As you know, with the gut issues, you can look pregnant from gas or feel so weak because you have evacuated every thing you have eaten. For me, the scale helps to verify the weakness is logically related to needing more food. Additionally, that food logging helps me see two or three days prior to see what the heck I ate! Lol. You do what works for you as no one knows your body as well as you do! The FS community has your back!
