My biggest issue right now is an attachment to sugar. Luckily I've used this app very consistently for a long time. I estimate an average of 470-640 grams of sugar per week. That's a lot. I'm going to make a concerted effort to stay under 24-48 grams of ADDED sugar per day. That is still more than recommended, but I want to start somewhere without getting burnt out. This will still be a great improvement for me. My current average is higher than this.

The key to success is knowing yourself, and establishing reasonable goals. You seem to have everything figured out! I’m sure you’ll do great!

Thanks! It's certainly a step in the right direction. Sugar has always been my kryptonite.

I promise you will feel so much better for it! My officemate and I swore off of added sugars a while ago as a joint effort. The two of us were relying on it to get through the day, but it honestly just makes it worse - we were both half asleep by 2pm. Unfortunately she fell off the wagon, and is back to 2pm crashes, but I have energy all day long now. You can do it!

A bit of advice from this 80 year old; one day at a time! And, start each day by looking in the mirror and saying, "You CAN do this!"

thanks for sharing your goal. I'm a sugar aficionado so ... I take inspiration from your self awareness and dedication.

The addiction to sugar is equal to, if not more, than the addiction to heroin. You have a rough road ahead but if you want to detox you just have to be prepared for the ups and downs and vow to free yourself.

Same! I could eat an entire bag of Reeces. I’ve sworn off sweets other than my morning coffee with cream and sugar. It’s only week three and it’s tough, but I keep thinking of all the positives and that summer is coming. :( but :)

Thank you guys! And I have heard that heroine and sugar both activate similar pleasure centers in the brain (highly addictive indeed). Annually, I do a candida diet and have no added sugar, no sweet fruits, and no refined carbs. I know what that feels like. I'm hoping allowing as much sugar as I am will be doable. I usually can handle a month without sugar, but limited sugar long term isn't something I've tried. We shall see. I have a goal though!
