Oh man, what a night. I got food poisoning and it's not over. It had to be something at that horrible Chamber of Commerce breakfast I was complaining about yesterday - the one that made me so hungry. It must have been the eggs, and that's why I had to drown them in ketchup, to mask to taste (lack of). Those horrible, industrial eggs in the giant metal bins that have been sitting there for God knows how long. All I had were eggs, bacon, sausage and a few slices of pineapple. And ketchup.
The rest of the day, I had some meal replacement bars and a protein shake. That's it. And I started feeling bad before any of the other food. I'm so bloated, I look like I'm ready to give birth to twin elephants and I gained two pounds overnight. Tell me how that's possible having only had 1250 calories yesterday and moderate sodium?
I'll tell you how. My body is retaining fluid and trying to use it to purge this poison out of me. There are horrible, science fiction sounding noises emanating from my stomach. I'm looking down at my stomach, waiting for that scene from "Alien" to happen". LOL.
I think I got about 45 minutes of sleep between trips to the bathroom. Very un-fun. So just ignore my weight today. It's not really weight. It's sci-fi special effects that will go away once I get some Immodium (TM) going. Meanwhile, I'm taking a well-deserved day off, pounding the fluids in spite of the bloat and going for canned soup to keep some salt and calories coming.
Praying for a 24 hour end, which would mean about 2PM today. Fingers crossed, otherwise, it's back to primal scream therapy, Day #2.

Sorry you are going through this and hope it is over soon! You did make me think about my dreams. I saw the movie Alien when I was pregnant and every night after that I dreamed my baby was going to come flying out of my chest! aghhh!

Yuck! Not to hit you when you're down, but isn't the Universe funny - you are peeved with the increased hunger thing, so WHAMMO! Let's give the poor women massive GI distress! At least that poison is working it's way out quickly. It happens to me about every 3 years and never lasts more than 24 hours.

Oh there's nothing worse! Maybe if you can get your hands on some prebiotics as well, it might get you back to normal faster - once you can venture away from a bathroom for longer than 5 minutes :/ Worst!

If it is truly food poisoning then it will last about 3 days...sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I had salmonella poisoning from eggs once. Thought I was going to die. I passed blood from everywhere. cramps and sweats...worst thing ever... It takes about 8 hours to hit you...so if you got sick about 6-8 hours after eating then that is what made you sick...

Kmunson, that's exactly how long it took. Good God, I hope you're wrong. This is pure torture. You should hear the gurgles and noises from my insides. It's terrifying. And the bloat is unreal. No blood, though, thank God for small favors, right?! I look and sound like a beached whale. Curling up with doggie. He's comforting me.

Yeah, most 'stomach flus' are food poisoning. 1-3 days depending on your constitution. Get your fluids. And dang it, Dom. Ketchup? :( Hope you feel better soon.

((((Hug)))) Feel better soon!!!! When ever I get a stomach virus or food poisoning I find a tiny itsy bit of comfort to know that one good thing will come out of it... You will probably lose weight. Did anyone else at the breakfast get sick?

OMG, nothing worse, I've been there. It will pass though, thank goodness, and you'll feel like a million bucks again. Hope it passes quickly.
