Did another body scan today. I was thinking it had been a little over a week since the last one but it was only 4 days. Gives an idea of how busy the week has been for me. In 4 days I lost 2lbs, and the scan says 1.5lbs was muscle mass that was lost. So for all the weight lifters, is that reasonable?

I am not lifting as heavy as I have in the past but not going easy either. I have been increasing the load as well as the arm allows. But that seems like a dramatic drop. It has me questioning how accurate the body scan is. The total water weight also went down 2lbs too.

No, it is in no way "reasonable" to believe that you're losing 0.5# of muscle per day. Maybe if you were running the Tour de France on a 2000 deficit. What sort of scan are you doing?

If you can do more than one scan in a day, do a baseline one and then another right after you drink a pint of water. It’s a tool, but not perfect.

I think the body scan machine is an Inbody brand. It’s at the gym I go to. They say to not drink water before having the scan as it can mess with the results. I’m going to do another in a week and see what comes up. This one was sone way too soon in my schedule.

Sounds like hydrostatic. IMU, this is among the least accurate ways to estimate body fat. As you have already experienced, the data from these units is so inaccurate that it only generates more questions. No answers. I would not waste my time. Your options for obtaining useful data, in order of descending cost, are as follows. DEXA or immersion displacement done monthly or quarterly. ($100 per). Caliper measurement, 7 point, conducted by the same skilled practitioner every time ($30per?). Bodymetrix (ultrasound). This is what I use. $700isj one time. Lasts forever. Used on ebay for $300ish. If you reach out to the company, they will refer you to a local trainer who uses their technology. Accumeasure home calipers - $20 om azon; way better than hydrostatic
