So I get a call smack in the middle of the day from my husband and he says, "I know you don't like it when I surprise you, so I'm coming home early today." Very early, and that will be the last time he gets to do that since he was fired. He's been working for the same company for 20 years so it's kind of sad . .. So now the kids are home for vacation, and he is too. This is a huge adjustment. Anyway, I've been really busy preparing for the holiday and vacation. I haven't been writing much but reading your journals and comments really keeps me inspired and focused and sane. It's finally sunny and spring-ey in NY, the birds are chirping, the sun is rising, the flowers are starting to bloom. I finally broke my plateau. I cut out all carbs except veggies for a few days to mix it up a little. Here's to health and happiness.

Awwwww, hope things work out ok for you and your husband. Sounds like there are also good things happening in your life. I've always found that an unexpected blow can usually lead to more and better opportunities.

You've been doing so well! Stress can really throw a curve ball in so many aspect of one's life. Try not to let it get you too much off track!

I understand. Same thing has happened here. Twice. Now when the DH comes home early, first question out of my mouth is....Do you still have a job? Best to you and your family. Hope he finds something soon.

So sorry to hear about your DH being made redundant. I hope he is able to get something else soon. Good luck for the upcoming holidays - I remember what it was like when my kids were school age. We usually have our 3 grandsons for a week at Easter, but DH isn't up to it this time (nor am I frankly!) so we will be quiet this year and on our own for the first time in a very long time, if not for the first time ever; I can't remember!!
