Wow. 182 pounds.
I even skipped last week's weigh-in of 180/181 so it wouldn't be recorded that I hit the 180's again.
On January 1, 2014, I was 190 lbs. On May 1, 2014, I was 175 lbs.
So I lost 15 pounds in 20 weeks, and I gained back 7 lbs in 7 weeks.
Yes, there is a direct relation to stopping smoking (today is day 18), but I was gaining weight back before that date. However, since quitting cigarettes I am STUFFING MY FACE with GARBAGE.
And what's worse? I'm going on vacation tomorrow... with another big girl! How much weight will I gain while on vaca? Let's see.

Make little containers with grapes or other easy "finger" fruits cut-up or cheese chunks, again, finger friendly. The key is to keep those hands busy, it's the habit of holding that cig that is the hardest to break. I used Tootsie Pops, but I wasn't watching my weight either. Gum in the car helped too, as soon as I got in the car I put a strong peppermint/spearmint piece in my mouth. I quit over 16 years ago, best thing ever! Good luck, and keep those hands busy! :)

First, congratulations on quitting smoking. That's BIG. About the vacation - challenge your big girl friend. Make this trip about how much fun you can have and still eat healthy. I'd be willing to bet she'd be in. Don't give up on healthy eating before you're even out the door.

Quitting smoking also induces a chemical change in your body. Just continue on your weight loss plan and know that the chemical change is what may appear to sabotage your efforts. Stick with it until your body is able to purge itself of those toxins, then you should see some real results!
