Would love to know you got your BP down. That is my primary weight loss focus right now. It’s good to look slim but I’m more interested in my health at this stage of my life. Got pointers? Would appreciate it😊

My normal blood pressure has always been low unless I get into the booze and that raises it. I was into 6 to 8 oz scotch daily sometimes a swallow or two more. That would have my resting BP at 140/85, 90. So my BP is controllable where with some; high BP comes genetically normal and medicines are necessary to lower it. My wife takes medication for high BP and most of her family has that problem. Good luck though and I do believe we are what we eat and certain foods can help.

The booze hasn’t been a problem for me but food choice and portion size certainly has been. After a visit to the doc, I was really concerned about my BP. I’m trying to avoid medication and I’m dieting/exercising by noting absolutely everything on FS. Good news is that my BP is coming down a bit.

Not that I am any expert, but having your BP done at the doc's isn't always that reliable. Mine is higher at the doc's, but I haven't been since going on the wagon. My suggestion is to have it done at home. I lie down for twenty minutes and then sit up to have my wife (retired RN) take it. I've come back from a hike and out of interest had it done then and it's higher; so having a twenty minute rest prior to the test is advisable. I'm only going by what I read, but as we age our BP will most likely rise a bit.

Forgot to say high BP at the doc's referred to as "white coat syndrome"😊

So true re: white coat syndrome. I’m always worried that my doc is going to get on my case about my weight. Anxiety will certainly ramp up the BP!
