I'm 28 and doctors say I've suspected liver disease. scans and things to come. I don't drink so can only assume its me being too unhealthy. I've got 3 little girls to be healthy for. I use this app on and off but it helps massively when I do use it. onwards and upwards!

I was diagnosed last June with NAFLD. ( nonalcoholic fatty liver disease) and was told I had to change my life style choices!!!! In other words change my eating habits. I was also diabetic! Within 6 months I have now been told that both are ‘reversed’ so as long as I keep the weight and changes going I am ok! I went down from 0ver 90 kilos to less than 74! You can do it too!!! Not easy but once you are focused and plan ahead you food so you have in your kitchen what you should be eating … that really helps. For me now it is maintenance … go for it make that choice . I used Dr Michael Moseley 800cals mainly but was strict on the sugars and counted the carbs!!! But enjoyed some new delights… Now I can do all the active things I did when I was much younger and play with my grandchildren again !!!

Look into Keto and intermittent fasting, Dr Berg on yt has some really useful info which maybe useful for knowledge alone.

Hi there my love, I just want to say a big congratulations on starting - I know it won’t be easy. I have noticed a user comment about intermittent fasting and keto diets. Please ignore them - it seems rather exploitative that they would comment that here! Intermittent fasting and keto can and most likely will both lead to disordered relationships with food. Learned that the hard way haha! I feel like this is a common misconception, but intermittent fasting is just a way to cut down on calories - a form of allocated mealtime. People simply push it to an extreme, and excuse skipping meals by saying it’s a fast hahah! This will lead to binging if you’re not careful! Remember, the best way to lose weight is slowly and by counting calories safely - like this app helps you to do! Slow and steady wins the race as they say! Best of luck, congratulations again for starting! <3

I've also been told I have NAFLD so am trying to reverse it by losing weight again. Logging food here definitely helps with being accountable, seeing how much you're eating and also teaches you to look at your macro nutrients so you can eat more healthily. I try to now cook most of my own food, which I've found to be much more appetising. Lots of great recipes out there... I often use a site called Slimming Eats. Alongside Fatsecret, I've also been using an app called Healthi, which uses old Weight Watchers plans. I've never paid to be a member, but have lost weight previously using their older plans. Wishing you every success though of getting to your goal. I'm currently a similar weight and have a similar goal, although I'm currently going to set my goals in 10lb increments to keep motivate. A fantastic start, so keep up the great work!!! 👏

have you looked into castor oil packs. this is a natural detox for your liver, externally.

Then you have a very good reason to improve your food quietly, and it’s simple and fun if you put in the effort. I wish quietly my my issue, not a knock at you, I am a unhappy over eater so boom. Good luck.
