I was really holding my breath when I stepped on the scale today. I've been on vacation for a week now and my eating has been fairly unrestrained; my goal has been to stay under 2900 calories. And, except for that unfortunate encounter with a donut shop the other day, I've kept to the plan. I certainly wasn't expecting to lose any weight, but a gain of only a pound comes as a great relief. I wouldn't have been surprised to be up five pounds.
So, one more week of vacation to go -- should be a bit more active as trips to Yosemite and Monterey are on the schedule. I hope next week's weigh in will be as encouraging as today's, and then I've got to get back on the horse when I return to Japan.
