Maybe look at how your emotions were playing out right before you decided to eat? You may believe food solves problems even though you 'know' this is not accurate. It is very possible that your thoughts and beliefs are not the same. This is nothing to feel bad about, but understanding why you eat can be helpful. Your emotions reveal your true beliefs about eating... not always true about your thoughts.

Thank you. I definitely eat for comfort. It was a really long day and I guess I felt like I needed it. I wish I could figure out how to change that habit.

When I feel the urge to binge eat, I drink a glass of water, then get up and do something, exercise, hobby, call a friend, chores or anything that gets me away from the refrigerator.

I feel you girl, sending you a hug. Sometimes I think food feels like a hug on the inside and that's why it's so irresistible. Look for ways to give yourself some soul nourishment. What's something you can do for you that makes you smile?

Yeah I think most of us have been there! Just start fresh tomorrow. One binge meal is better than a binge week. Plus the scale might drop back down some if you are really salty things. If you want ideas: What has helped me is making really good low calorie soups. 2 cups and I'm full, plus they are warm and they fulfill that emotion comfort food feeling. I do ones with tons of veggies, beef and sometimes beans. Second would be to find something that will fulfill that emotional eating comfort food feeling but that isn't high calorie. Some of mine are blue chips with cottage cheese (I count out chips to 150 calories then put bag away) and I also really love: 1 can of green beans, 1/2 can diced potatoes. I cook 1 minute, drain again with container lid then add cheddar cheese and low cal butter for another minute or melted. I do the I can't believe it's not butter spray one. It is filling and depending on how much cheese (doesn't need a ton) usually only 200 calories. (all high in sodium so if scale goes up give it another day.) So you can think of what it is you crave and think of healthier versions to have on hand. If craving chocolate, I love the Russell's sugar free ones, especially toffee or pecan clusters (about 80 cal each so can't have too many.) Anyway I hope you can think of some ideas and definitely don't beat yourself up. Just move on abba try to have a plan for next time you have cravings and you will get there.
