Okay, so, does someone want to remind me how all of this works? I was 1800 for a month and the weight just stuck. Then I let it slide to 2000 two weeks ago and... nothing happened, so I decided to go to maintenance which I figure at about 2600. I've been at those calories for a week and... stasis. Staying at maintenance for now. Enjoying the berries, the smoked salmon, the pork chops, and the bigger calories, but... I thought that wasn't supposed to happen. I'll let the metabolism gain it's footing again and then I think I'll just shave about 300 calories from it four days a week or something, but I may let this go on for a couple of months. Sucks to be me! :D

There is nothing like a good solid weight loss to keep the momentum going. I thought I would surly lose a pound when I weighed in today, but gained a pound instead. It sucks to be me too!

Yeah I don't understand why I am still losing a bit, too. I switched back to LCHF but my calories are the same and my activity is WAY down. Go figure. Like you I will just ride it out like a sweet wave on a summer day. Have a piece of cake......

I agree it is becuase you keep your body guessing...feast or famine, and you have plenty of muscle that burns calories sitting around doing nothing!

It's an interesting idea, and anecdotally I've heard of others experiencing the same. I've been on a trip the last few days (a culinary tour of all things, that was interesting to try to log, heh), and ate over my self-imposed 1700 limit by far for a few of them, but we were super active as well, so it'll be interesting (or...not)!

There is always a lag between eating/not eating and any weight change. The body takes its time processing and converting fat to whatever is needed to survive. This is why a constant lower RDI is slow at reducing weight. A faster way of loosing weight is to fool the body into thinking it can burn off the excess without storing fat. 2 non consecutive days a week of rapidly reducing your calorie intake is supposed to do this. The body uses the stored fat on the day that you have little food intake, and would of course stop doing this if you carried on for longer periods. Your body would just store the fat, thinking lean times ahead. 1day then back to normal, and your body just rapidly burns off the fat on the 2 non consecutive days. Don't forget to constantly check and recalculate your RDI, as it is dependent on your body weight, The more you weigh, the higher the RDI, and the inverse is also true. RDI is the figure at which you maintain your present weight.
