Well, that's okay I guess. Weight isn't moving much but I just tightened my weight lifting belt. :)

I read yesterday that we experience stalls in our lifting - a sticking point if you will - when our hands can sense that our grip is not strong enough to lift the weight. Apparently there's some kind of a feedback look (called the neuro-muscular system... whatever) that prevents us from the attempt if our hands know they'll slip. I found that rather interesting. I grabbed my lifting straps and tied in and added 5 to my PR. Still lifting raw during all ramp up weights. Fun stuff.

AWESOME!!! I've sooo got to get back into strength training. I miss all of those wonderful feelings that come with it.

That's interesting, a feedback loop. I wish my body had a feedback loop for when I picked up something I shouldn't eat so it would not let me get it to my mouth. :)

My body has that, Jim, but only for peanut butter.

I'm a major believer in 'Mind Muscle' communication. I was doing bilateral dumb-bell drop-set shoulder presses last night and thought that I couldn't do another rep, so I switched to unilateral, (ie, 1 arm at a time) and I was able to push out another 4 or 5 reps at the end of each set and they actually felt solid and good, not like I was just trying to throw the weight up. The idea is that you can concentrate/control 1 group of muscles vs. 2, more dedicated mind-muscle connection. This will definitely be something that I'm going to add to the end of my shoulders. I could see adding this method to db bench press too but I haven't yet.
