That seems to be your pattern drop, bounce, drop. But you know you're doing great in the wider picture. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, every morning is a surprise and very little of it correlates with what I ate or did the day before. Saturday I went for a 40-mile bike ride, had 2 big meals (one at Golden Corral). Sunday I was out walking and shopping all day with my wife only ate half my lunch (Sichuan Boiled Beef) went on a 20-mile bike ride then finished the rest of my lunch for dinner. Totally expected to be down or at least the same this morning.

Things you eat today take a couple of days to metabolize into energy or storage. That gain might be the 2 meals from Saturday. But you've been on a roll for a long time.you got this!

Great job biking! 40 miles is a great ride...I usually do 15 once a week in addition to my four weight lifting days

You're doing awesome overall, you've had great losses for the last 3 days-you got this, you might even lose it back in the morning, who knows?

Mskestrela, I would love to learn more about the digestive/metabolic process. I'd love to make sense of this. Do you know any good books? HCB, biking is my sport. I just love it. I used to bike all over when I was in college but my weight has kept me from riding for years. (decades) Now I'm finally at a point where I can get back in the saddle again.

Chinese food is usually very high in sodium and causes water retention. That may be the culprit.

Thanks Erika, that's good to keep in mind. I've noticed I often go up after eating Chinese, but I always figured it was because I ate too much.

Sean, short of sending you everything I've read, watched and studied, I would say, "Google is your friend". Not being snarky, my friend...but research is something to be passionate about. From what I know, it takes about 53 hours, on average, for a meal to go from mouth to toilet. In the interim, the weight of the mass in your digestive tract is there, along with the fat creation, water retention, and other processes of metabolism are in play.

It's also worth making sure they use no MSG- that stuff is very bad news.

Studies demonstrated way back in the early that MSG does not affect people negatively. According those scientists at CDC, it must have been something else in the food. They studied the very people who originally got sick.

No worries Sean. Your trend is good and you'll turn this.
