Hey ho. What can I expect eating 150%+ RDI. Since I started work I am constantly hungry and unable to resist eating. I sincerely hope that settles, once my body gets used to the new routine.

I think you're just not in the mood to diet, Jocko. Seems the surgery you had threw you right off course. You'll find it will pass eventually. Have a great day :)

Have you ever looked back at your history line? You are maintaining pretty much. The slight zig zag is to be expected isn't it? We are all creatures of habit. I don't think being somebody who maintains their weight over a long time should feel anything other than proud of their ability to do that. What your history tells us is that you are good at staying this weight Jocko. Something we all wish we could do, instead of gaining. I say well done Jocko.

Agree with Mazchap, you are doing well keeping this weight where you are right now.

I also agree with Mazchap, maybe despite what you want your body wants to be the weight you are now. I would focus on maintaining rather than losing until you get settled in the new job.

I think you are doing great, especially starting a job. Your body is busy and needs fuel. Take care

After weight loss, the hormones directly involved with perceptions of hunger/satiation, leptin and ghrelin, are affected somewhat. So it's less a matter, perhaps, of your body "wanting" to remain a certain size and more a matter of the changes you've undergone having a genuine impact that takes some time to work itself out. I've had some phases like that myself, but it does get better, this much I can promise you, and as consistent and diligent as you've always been, you've already armed yourself with the tools to stay the course (even if you just need to pull over for a bit, at least you know where the onramp lies!) I wish I could find the study now but it indicated it takes about a year with the new weight for the body to fully adapt and for those hormones to normalise again, and as this happens, your appetite/hunger settles back down and your "new normal" has more of an opportunity to lock in. The main thing is always to just keep tracking and pushing forward. While I agree sometimes that eating around maintenance and just taking a wee break from a long-term loss is not a bad thing, the idea that we're ever "inevitably" set to a certain weight is simply not true and can be fuel for discouragement. I used to believe that my body "wanted" to be a certain size - and had I continued to do so, I'd still be 99kg today.

Everyone has made such great comments. Just know Jocko that for better or worse we are all here to support each other.

I find the support here a great strength. Without it I would probably chuck the whole diet thing. The support of my Buddies is helping me carry on, because if I give up I feel I would not only be letting myself down, but I would be letting down all the friends I have made here.
