I've decided to get serious about my health. I'm in my mid-50's and I'm in near perfect health at this time, but know that it can't stay this way being over 100 pounds overweight. I came across a book, Metabolism Advantage, and have been educating myself on how to rev up my body's fat burning engine. It also supports intensive workouts, correct eating times depending on when you workout. I'm joining a gym for the first time, since the military, some 35 years ago. I plan on going slow but steady and not getting burn out.

You can do this. It is not an easy road, but a very rewarding one as the pounds drop off! :) Welcome to the site, it is truly helping me having a place to track my food/exercise and keeping me honest and on task.
