What a weird day so far! 2.30am got a phone call from someone claiming to be our sons friend. He wanted us to wake up son Mr. Broken leg (Yep..not ankle that broke..apparently fibula refers to the side bone on the lower leg..it just broke near ankle area). My hubby said whats so urgent that you want to wake him up at this time? "I have to give in my homework and he promised he would help me!" hubby told the kid to phone back in the morning.."no you cant do this to me..i need to do my homework right now..." and then proceeded to use expletives that I havent heard in even movies!

I couldnt get to sleep after that because the kid he was claiming to be didnt quite sound like that but definitely behaved that way normally. Being friendly with the mother made me wonder if I should 'report' him? Son Broken leg is claiming it is not him and just a prank call. A really stupid prank call to do..at 2.30 in the bloody morning!

Well sleep was disturbed the whole night because of that. Then since morning I have had the whole Correleone family calling to ask about Son Broken leg. I married into a mafia..you marry one you marry them all!! They are wonderful people but THERES SO MANY OF THEM!! My mother in laws cousins, their kids...friends of their families, the family dog, the neighbors cat..etc...everyone feels obliged to call. Luckily, I like all of them..(I have great in laws thank god)so I was appreciative of that but it was a little tiring.

Combine that with everyone in my family thinking..right its the weekend...click your fingers and mother will serve us time. Son Broken leg demanding food be brought up to him. He went to school yesterday but walking around on crutches has made his entire upper body ache so he cant move much. Daughter Drama Queen bemoaning the fact that I am giving more attention to the older one than I did when she broke her arm two months back so I should cook HER a special lunch to prove otherwise. Little Bear (my cuddly two year old) dragging me into the shower.."I want a bath!..I want a bath!"..Hubby screaming .."Make me lunch, I have to leave for work in a minute..." and all this happening while I am trying to call my sister in law to wish her a happy birthday!!

Managed to do everything for everyone AND put Little Bear to bed. That was the perfect opportunity to exercise but I had hubby sitting in front of me and I realized that this was one of those rare days where he is actually at home for a change so I decided to sit and watch a show with him. Its odd how you can not talk to each other but just sitting and laughing together can be such a great bonding moment.

I did exercise, even though it took 3 attempts to finish half an hour of walking on a treadmill due to calls and Son broken legs friends popping around.

Thank god the day is almost over! Happy thoughts Nisa..Happy thoughts only!!

What a day you had! Very weird prank phone call. Stretched and pulled every which way but loose. How you were able to fit in a workout at all is astounding! I'm glad you got to sit and relax for a few minutes to watch a movie :) Kind of reminds me of that old commercial where the jingle goes: "I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in the pan. And never, ever let you forget you're a man 'cause I'm woman... W - O - M - A - N." I spent too much time in front of the tv as a child :)

I love the "Indian names" you have given your children. My name is She Who Sleeps With Food!!

whew!!! I got winded just reading your fast and furious journal! You sound like super-mon, tackling herds of relatives, drones of kid-drama, AND leading challenges on FS, and trying to stay with your exercise regimen!! I bow to you--and all the moms here--how do you do it??!!! Meanwhile, that crazy prank call sounded bad---I'm sorry you had to endure that--I've had situations like that before, and can only imagine how rattled it must have made you feel!! Hope it doesn't re-occur!! Hang in there--you're doing awewome!

hah! my typo above read "super-MON"..I obviously meant, super MOM--but am going to leave this un-edited---it actually maked sense---you're part supermom, part superman! ;) (Just say it with a Jamaican accent, and it'll work! ;))

Ey mon..err..I mean 08, actually the prank call was the most annoying part of the day. It was in the middle of the night and the entire family woke up in a panic. Because all my family lives in England and my hubbys mother is currently abroad, you always dread a middle of the night call. That time is usually reserved for bad news so you fear the worst whenever the phone rings dead of the night. All the other situations I had some control over, but prank calls (with private no.), you feel helpless.

I hear ya!! With my family living in India, I know exactly what you mean about any late-night calls...that prankster should be reported!!! Hope you find out who it was and are at least able to yell at them or something! The outrage!
