Yesterday I went for a walk/hike and discovered a whole wonderful forest trail about 2.5 miles from my house. I had heard of it but never knew where to find the entrance or how incredible it was. I had a nice 8 mile round trip and just under 900 foot elevation gain. Being able to walk there from my house makes it an absolute treasure. I'll be back! And, yes, it really is that green!

I am so glad you enjoyed seeing where I walked. Becc, next time you come up, I'm taking you there! There is a place closer by to park, so we don't have to walk all day to get there! 😊

karen sewasky, I am sure the desert has its own beauty where you are. My first memories are living on the prairie in Alberta, Canada. Sometimes I desperately miss the wide open space and huge sky! 😁

That is so awesome! A walk in nature is so spiritually lifting. The photos are beautiful! You discovered a real gem there, and it's great you don't even have to drive anywhere to go!

Thank you guys! I went back last evening for an hour's wander to explore most of the trails. It is a pretty darn good workout! Some places are so steep it makes for a hard scramble! Lonnie, a compliment on my photos from you is seriously significant! Thank you! I just have a sad little phone camera, but it at least recorded my adventure!
