Today officially marks my one month sobriety date from alcohol! I truly cannot describe how proud I am of myself for this. It's something I've been trying to accomplish since I was 15 years old (I'm now 22). Having struggled with addiction all my life since I was a small child, finally kicking my one last substance problem to the curb feels like a euphoric win. For years, I thought that numbing myself out would help me deal with the abuse I was suffering at home, but really, it only served to make me more vulnerable and less equipped to heal. Being sober is the most significant intimately personal freedom I have experienced since getting out of my last abusive relationship (kind of makes you think... substances treat you the same as abusive partners). If I could instantly enable everyone to feel that freedom, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. I'm happier, healthier, and infinitely better able to handle my life. There's no comparison and no going back for me.

Thank you all so much! The FS community has really come together and supported me through my time here so far. Words cannot describe how much I appreciate all of your kindness and concern for my well-being. Keep on being you. You guys are the best!
