Here I go again to try to plan what to eat. My doctor says my carbs are to high, but did not explain to me how many carbs I am to have. Does anyone know? This really is stressing me out. I am trying to plan my meals ahead to hit my calorie count and to get the right nutrients. Why is this so hard to do?

try taking the amount of calories you need and divide it by the amount of meals you want to eat. and once you find out the amount of carbs to take in do the same so say for example: 2000cals/5 meals = 400 cal per meal 100g carbs per day/ 5 meals = 20g per meal 20g * 4 cal = 80cals from carbs per meal that would leave you 320 cals per meal to fill in with protein and fats. the biggest carb meal you'd probably want is breakfast so if you don't want carbs at the end of the day take from your last meal and add to breakfast. hope this helps and doesn't make it more confusing 😃

For myself, I focus on getting my carbs from vegetables, fruits and whole grains. And I do not worry about the carb number, but focus more on total calories.

When you start with FS you can enter height, weight, activity level, etc and it will help you determine some of those. I might also suggest a meeting with a dietician if this is your first ever weight loss experience. They can help you develop a plan based on your medical conditions (diabetes). Or you can start with the generic 150 complex carbohydrates, 60 grams of protein and 30-40 grams of healthier fats like fish, olive oil, nuts then adjust as you gain more nutritional knowledge from reading.

I started seeing a medical doctor that specializes in weight loss. She was very specific about the macros I need to consume each day. I would ask your doctor for a breakdown so that you know what to do. Best wishes!

What works for me is keeping an eye on the pie chart at the bottom of the weight history page. I try to keep 55% carbs, 30% fat and 25% protein.
