Friend of mine brought a jar of home prepared red caviar and some black currants from up north of Michigan. Cannot wait till try them for my breakfast.

Roe is perfectly salty, the texture is not too soft or firm , moist and not mushy at all . My friend is an avid fisherman with dozens of years of experience of fishing and different products preservation.
Black currant is bittersweet. :)

Blackcurrants are bittersweet, with pronounced earthy acidic notes. Berries are very juicy and the taste is pretty intense and satisfying. Therefore I could eat just a third of the cup - not like cherries or strawberries or blueberries- each of them I can eat by pounds.
Let’s say that blackcurrant compared to strawberries is like crafty IPA compared to Miller Light or like tonic water compared to club soda .
