Intermittent Fasting ... Yes or no? I have been having breakfast, as if breakfast is one of the 10 commandments of the Bible, now I wonder what if I start to eliminate my breakfast???and consuming 1500 calories a day, 20% protein, 30% healthy fats and 50% carbohydrates works for me, last year I counted calories the first 6 months, later I continued eating healthy but without using the app and I kept my weight, but the last three months of last year I started eating everything and started to gain weight and lose muscles, I gained 16 pounds in total: | This year I am back on track, I exercise, I eat my healthy food as possible but I do not want to be counting calories daily, so I have not lost weight but I can see a big difference in my body, I have muscles again. I would like to try IF, I hope that does not make my metabolism slower, I already know that eating less than 1200 calories what it does is mess up with my metabolism so if I start IF I will have to use the app to count the calories. I would like to know if anyone here has some advice to me. KEILIN 😊

Breakfast is a great meal to skip. There is biologically very little need for it. When your body wakes you up it does it with an adrenaline surge and corresponding release of glucose into your bloodstream that can power you for HOURS! LOL Those of us who have never liked breakfast, now know why! Farmers actually used to get up and do chores for 2-3 hours before they ate and went out to work again. 🤷🏻‍♀️So far from this being ‘the most important meal of the day.’ LOL It’s probably the most unnecessary one. The longer you can hold your overnight fast, the better IF works for your body. But fewer meals seems to be key. Those of us taking meds that need food with them don’t have the luxury except to swing the meds a bit to take advantage of a few hours. 🙋🏻

I would say stick with what works for you. You may have to try different things. For me the bottom line is calories. If I eat more than I burn, I will gain. Whether it be low carb or high carb. In general low carb does not work for me because I get cranky. Carbs make me happy. Don't know why. Intermediate fasting be good and I like to skip breakfast sometimes especially if I want to eat a big dinner. Or if I eat a big lunch. I just skip dinner. Watching calories for me is the bottom line. Exercise is important for me too.

I think everyone is different, but I seem to lose more if I skip dinner instead of breakfast and lunch. It’s hard to do though because I like to eat with my family. Try some different things and see what works best for you!

Your body has no idea what time it is, can't read a clock, never eat breakfast I eat after five till midnight and fast on Friday, it's still about a calorie deficit, so I still track every thing I eat

I never eat breakfast, never have, I find that it makes me hungrier during the day. I eat once a day, usually around 6 or so, and am good until tomorrow. I do drink fat coffee in the mornings, and water water water. Its all how you want to do it, but for me, breakfast makes me hungry.

I eat 300 calorie breakfast 🍳 at 7am n it can hold me until 1pm ...that’s my type of fasting...nothing in between but water n coffee ☕️

I say yes. I have always had trouble losing weight in the past bc i have to allocate my calories over too many meals and i never felt like i was having a decent meal! And like klynn, i always felt hungry and i was always obsessing over food (well i still do that, lol). For me, IF has been permission to skip break and eat 1-2 pretty large meals later on. I usually shoot for 18/6, but lately have been doing 20/4. I have been surprised at how it has helped my mind start to change about eating as an activity.

I just had a birthday (May)and went off ketosis, had a milkshake and later that week, some alcohol, etc. Inflammation and stiffness returned HARD after 3 days. The message was clear. So I am at 4 months of sugar-free, grain free, Keto food plan and feel much better. I have a real physical challenge with fibromyalgia so exercise is quite limited. Yoga seems best for me now. I've lost 20 pounds. Not a huge loss but a very good outcome at this date. Thanks for listening.

Well, after 3 months I am finding easy to go with my stomach empty until noon, and when I decide to have breakfast with hubby on weekends my stomach is full just with half of my plate , still learning, reminding to myself that I have to stop eating when my stomach is full not when plate is empty .
