Today I eventually decided to have an "off" day, i.e. one day when I eat regularly. I started out eating low-carb (bacon and eggs for breakfast), but after watching "The Hunger Games" (which was really good and I recommend it--they did not butcher the book), my boyfriend and I went to P.F. Changs for lunch. We split some fried wontons (which tasted like fried dough because they were a little sweet), and split two entrees: Mongolian Beef and Crispy Honey Chicken. Of course, we also indulged in rice: mine white, his brown. Afterwards we went shopping for a little and decided to split a Cinnabon. It was sooooo good!
I figured since I had completed 4 weeks of low-carb that I could have this one day, especially since I thought I was going to quit at Day 2 even before I started.

Drinking lots of water definitely seems to help. I'll have to continue to make sure I drink 8 8oz glasses a day.
I also had a fudge bar last night. I promised myself that I would only have one once I complete 3 work-outs, but I had a weak moment and ate one. Still, I haven't really "cheated" on this diet very much. I've had some pieces of chocolate, but I've made sure that I'm still under (a max of) 30 carbs a day. (I usually shoot for 15-20 per day.) So I was feeling proud of myself yesterday and gave in to a fudge bar.
I also had a fudge bar today, but since this will be my 3rd work-out day I earned it instead of cheating.

Got myself some blackberries and raspberries last night. I was tempted to get strawberries too, but I know I'd eat those over the others so I figured I should eat the berries I have now and then get strawberries.
Today is another beautiful day. It's sunny, but it's still rather cold. I can't wait until it gets warmer. Last night my boyfriend gave me flowers for no reason. Those are my favorite kind of flowers. :) So with the sunny day and lovely flowers, how can I not smile today?

Well, I've been following the diet well (maybe a couple extra carbs though), but I've still been gaining weight. I'm wondering if I'm taking in too much salt and retaining water. I'll try to give up the pepperoni for a while.
On the positive side, I've been working out for the last two days. I'm very proud of myself. I've done running: alternate 2 minute intervals of fast walking and jogging. I've never been able to run more than a minute without my heart hurting. Now I can do 5 intervals of 2 minute runs! I'm overjoyed! Once I get into a regular habit of working out, I hope to increase the time of my running intervals. I'm also doing light weights, leg press, stretching, and sit-ups. Today since I was running late on time, I skipped the light weights.
I've also made a promise to myself that when I work out 3 times, I get a low carb Breyer's fudge bar (3 net carbs). I've been keeping track of my progress on an erasable calendar board that I can plan out when I'm going to work out and when I'm going to study for my Microsoft Exam since I need to do that too.
